Computational Intelligence

Overview

Computational Intelligence (CI) is an evolving field that consists of the theory, design, application and development of biologically inspired computational paradigms. The dominant paradigms of CI include artificial immune systems, evolutionary computing, fuzzy logic, swarm intelligence and artificial neural networks. CI plays a major role in developing intelligent systems. Some of the most successful AI systems today are based on CI. The development and application of CI-based algorithms in robotics, wireless networks, biomedical engineering, and signal processing, is the core focus area of the CI subgroup of the Center for Machine Learning and Computational Intelligence.
