Overview

RCCTTID aims to focus on new products and digital tools to reduce human effort. There is a special focus on green materials, aesthetics, and efficient and sustainable materials and products. We are working towards developing commercial products by involving M.Des and Research Students with the required skills and capabilities. We are also working towards increasing our exposure by participating in international competitions, publishing our work in research publications and filing patents.

The Research Centre for Contemporary Tools and Techniques in Industrial Design aims to contribute towards the enhancement of industrial design on a global scale through exploration of newer materials and processes, digital tools, and appropriate technologies using an integrated approach for research, education and practice.

  • To develop a design framework for new product design and innovation with emphasis on frugal design.
  • To generate data on human anthropometry and ergonomics for application in the field of design.
  • To develop solutions for societal needs and environmental issues. 
  • To develop state-of-the-art tools and techniques for application in the various areas of design.
  • To transfer appropriate technologies developed for commercialisation and entrepreneurship development.
