Composite Structural Design and Tooling


The Composite Structural Design and Tooling research group aims to develop modelling and simulation tools for the design of composites and also get a better understanding of their failure mechanisms. We are focused on developing design rules, analytical methods and numerical models to predict accurate composite materials response. We are also developing manufacturing process simulation methods (keeping in mind the simplification of complex analysis and the effect of manufacturing route on completed products) for efficient end-to-end design process utilising various tools. We are also aiming to design for manufacture and improve said design for production benefits.
